JAIPUR: In a big blow to medical education in the state, Medical Council of India (MCI) has yet again recommended to the Centre to not give permission for the establishment of seven proposed government medical colleges in seven districts of the state.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 registration is expected to begin from January 31 and will be conducted by CBSE.

Meanwhile, an official update from board authorities is awaited and candidates are advised to keep a close check on the official website, cbseneet.nic.in

Former Supreme Court Bar Association president and senior counsel Dushyant Dave lauded the action of the four judges. “There was no other way to handle the situation. The country should know something is ailing the system,” Dave said.

Asked whether the four wanted the CJI to be impeached, Justice Chelameswar said: “Don’t try to put words in my mouth.”

For 2018–2019 academic sessions, the Board will conduct common entrance examination titled JENPAUH-2018 for admission to a) B.Sc. Nursing (Bachelor of Nursing), b) B.P.T (Bachelor of Physiotheraphy) c) B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) d) B.U.M.S. (Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery) e) B.H.M.S. (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery) f) B.A.S.L.P. (Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology) and g) B.M.L.T (Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technician) courses in Colleges/ Institutes in the State of West Bengal, subject to confirmation from the competent authority.

Date of Examination: 27th May, 2018 (Sunday)

Online Application: 27/02/2018 to 23/03/2018

The application for this examination will be received ONLINE at this portal of the Board, http://www.wbjeeb.in Information Bulletin in this regard will be available in due course.         Mumbai: The Bombay high court has directed the Medical Council of India (MCI) to grant permission to a first year MBBS student from Maharashtra who is seeking transfer to the second year of a private medical college in Karnataka as the student had got all the necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the authorities in Karnataka. The bench directed the MCI to not deny permission on the grounds that the student had sought a transfer belatedly.

NEET UG 2018: Like the previous year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2018 exam schedule in the last week of January. In 2017, the online registration commenced from January 31 and continued till March 1. The exam was conducted on Sunday, May 7.
